D.I.Y. Love Monday's!

Due to the overwhelming amount of amazing DIY projects I have found that I am in love with, I have decided to feature a D.I.Y project every monday! Don't worry, the ones I seem to be drawn to are quite simple and do not require a lot of time. I love the feeling when I have completed a project that actually turns out cute and turns heads! In order to save money on favors for your wedding or event, you can easily make something that allows you to give meaningful, personalized gifts to your wedding party, can take a little time to make them something extra special. I have found that it is very appreciated.

The first project I am going to introduce, is a jewelry board! I love this! It is great for a gift of any kind, really!

simple and modern

Things you will need:
*A piece of  1/2 inch to 1 inch thick wood (the size you desire)
*burlap to fit the size of your wood piece (there are several colors, so choose one that you like most)
*door knobs and handles as shown above (you can be as creative as you want with these)
*staple gun and staples
*hot glue gun
*cordless drill for holes and to screw the knobs and handles onto the board
*Ribbon (color of your choice...if you want to add a little extra to the top, sides, or bottom)

Cover the wood with the burlap and staple onto the back. After stapling the burlap turn it back to the front side and decide where you want your knobs and handles. Make marks on the back of your board to show you where to screw each knob and handle into place. Screw in each piece. Hot glue the ribbon to the burlap and TADA! You have an amazing jewelry holder!

Welcome to Events By Ashley

Welcome to Events By Ashley! I am so excited for all the possibilities and events to come. A special thank you to those of you who have encouraged me and made this dream a reality! A friend of mine took this photo. I find this to be so encouraging in the way that we live our lives and serve others. Of course I believe there is more to happiness than just these things, but these things are all just a part of it!

My love for decorating, the hearts of people and the true desire to make those hearts full of joy is what prompted me to follow my own heart and make myself available to help design, plan, set up for events and most importantly, help ease the stress that such an important day can bring.

Don't forget to check us out on facebook!

Stay tuned for all that is to come!
