We have had the pleasure of working with Skyler and his wife on several weddings now. They are one of the best photog teams out there! Learn a little more about him below!
1. How many years have you been in business and what was the passion behind starting your company?
I photographed my first wedding 14 years ago but became more serious when my wife and I had our first kid 7 years ago. I wanted to be able to do something I loved that allowed me to work with my wife and to be present in my children's lives.
2. What is the best piece of advice you can give to clients?
The best advice I could give in regards to wedding photography is hire vendors that you like. If you’ve been in a bridal party you know that a bride and groom spend a majority of their wedding with their vendors. Just like choosing the friends you want by your side on your wedding day you want to choose vendors whose company you enjoy, who you trust, and who will help your day be more fun and less stressful rather than the other way around.
3. What is your favorite part of what you do?
I love working with people, I love the the whole idea of marriage, and I love capturing the emotion of the bride and groom when giving solemn vows.
4. What is your greatest challenge?
Because we live in a digital age every owns a camera on almost every device they carry. My challenge at weddings sometimes is competing with "Uncle John" for space so that I can deliver a product that is perfect and non obstructed of the Bride and Groom. Some of the best weddings I have been to are the "unpluged" weddings. Basically the bride and groom let the wedding guests know that they have hired a professional photographer to photograph the day and that the guest can just enjoy themselves without the stress of capturing every moment on their phone. As wedding guest it is so nice to live in the moment rather then capture the moment. That's my job, and I love it!!
